Patrons rave about the quick and friendly service at El Jalisco. It's not just about getting food quickly; the staff takes pride in creating a pleasant dining environment. Dishes such as the San Miguel and the infamous quessabirria receive high praise for their rich flavors and satisfying portions. The restaurant's vibrant atmosphere enhances every visit, making it feel lively yet relaxed. Customers enjoy a fantastic beer selection and refreshing cocktails, perfect for complementing their meals. Moreover, the generous kids’ menu ensures that even the littlest diners have delightful options, contributing to family-friendly dining experiences.

Most Disliked

Some guests mention inconsistency with certain items on the menu. Reports of overly seasoned beans appearing orange initially surprised a few diners but were often met with laughter and light-hearted comments. Also, some regulars expressed disappointment in the phasing out of the beloved Contigo green sauce, which they considered a staple for their meals. While the atmosphere is mostly cozy, peak times can lead to crowding, which may affect the dining experience for those seeking a quieter environment. Lastly, the restaurant's popularity means larger groups might experience a slight wait during busy hours, although the delicious fare typically makes the wait worthwhile.

To start, this could be the only sit in Mexican restaurant. So if you’re a Mexican food lover, you must try them. We are not talking fast food ones. The first thing you notice when you walk on that you hear laughter all over the place which was a great indication that they are happy specially when you see all the empty plates in front of them. Their chops is served warm and it’s crispy and crunchy, also you mostly big chips not broken down. The dips are wonderful queso, salsa and guacamole. The rice is one of the highlights of the meal. It was in the san Miguel, special Jalisco and the quessabirria. The San Miguel was flavorful and the cheese and chicken complemented the rice and made a great combination. The Jalisco special was elevated even more with all the meat on it and the peppers. The quessabirria was something else. Everything on the plate had a purpose even that slice of lime, that’s no decoration or garnish, it will transfer your dish to a different level. Everyone is nice here and they are all welcoming and smiling. You feel that you’re welcomed from the second you walk in until you leave. Most definitely a must try and if I’m even in Hannibal again, I know where to go for Mexican. Again, if you didn’t try them, you’re missing much.

Stopped here with some work colleagues for a quick lunch meeting and was pleasantly surprised. Luis was our server and he was incredibly attentive without hovering, which made the whole experience easy and relaxed. We ordered the three steak tacos that came with a ramekin of rice and beans simple but really hit the spot. Only funny thing was the beans had a little too much sazón Goya so they came out more orange than expected, but flavor was okay. The Jamaica water was refreshing and perfectly balanced. The restaurant itself felt clean, calm, and welcoming, which was nice for a first visit. Overall, good service, satisfying food, and worth coming back to try more of the menu.

2nd time being here. The first time they were so new that they hadn’t gotten the liquor license yet! The food was so good! Had to come back. We had half dozen oysters and they didn’t last long that’s why there’s no picture!

I had the burrito grande mixed and chips. The question was sooo delicious. Sad to hear they are phasing out the best bottled green sauce I've ever tasted - Contigo. I think they gave me the last bottle. Such delicious red salsa too. Mmm

Great food and good prices. Service was good. The place was crowded so you know the food is popular. Katie and I had the same thing, which was excellent. I don't remember what Uncle Jimmy had but he's the only one that had a to go box. We were totally stuffed and needed to be rolled out to the cars! We're going back when Jennifer and Natalie visit because those girls love their tequila!!!
